Environmental, Social & Governance

For All of Us

ESG stands for environmental, social and governance. It encompasses a wide range of factors that can affect a company’s long-term performance and profitability. As investors increasingly focus on sustainability, more companies are looking at ways to measure and improve their ESG scores. This can involve reducing emissions, improving labour practices or increasing transparency around boardroom decision-making.

About Our Foundation

Mission

To educate humanity about the global impact of black carbon emissions, its direct effect in causing the glaciers and polar ice sheets to melt and the resulting direct affect on climate change. To support innovative and sustainable solutions to directly reduce black carbon that protect our climate in the near and long term.

Vision

To create a better, more sustainable future, starting with cutting black carbon and its effects through innovative projects that meet and exceed UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Climate Accord while providing a clearer focus towards slowing glacial and ice sheet melting.

What is ESG?

ESG stands for environmental, social and governance.

There is a growing body of evidence to suggest that companies with strong ESG scores outperform those with weak ones. This is because sustainability-minded investors are increasingly looking for companies that are well-positioned to weather the challenges of the future, such as climate change and social inequality.

ESG encompasses a wide range of factors that can affect a company’s long-term performance and profitability. As investors increasingly focus on sustainability, more companies are looking at ways to measure and improve their ESG scores. This can involve reducing emissions, improving labour practices or increasing transparency around boardroom decision-making.

The Fight

One of the challenges of implementing ESG is that there is no single definition of what constitutes a good score. This can make it difficult for companies to compare themselves against their peers. Additionally, some critics argue that the focus on ESG scores can lead to short-term thinking, as companies may make decisions that improve their score in the short term but are not necessarily in the best interests of long-term value creation.

The future of ESG is likely to involve increased regulation and reporting requirements for companies. This will provide greater clarity around what constitutes a good score and should help to address some of the criticisms that have been levelled at the concept. Additionally, as sustainability becomes an increasingly important issue for investors, it is likely that ESG will become an increasingly important factor in investment decisions.
